Giving your team the right access

Giving your team the right access

Most ticketing tools give you one switch: this person can manage the event, or they cannot. That is a bad fit for how events actually run, where the person scanning tickets at the door and the person approving refunds are rarely the same person.

Roles are per event, not per account

You invite somebody to a specific event with a specific role. Somebody helping with one festival does not gain access to everything else you run.

The roles

  • Box office — sell tickets on the door, check attendees in, answer attendee messages.
  • Marketing — campaigns, discount codes, landing pages, the event's public presentation.
  • Finance — payouts, expenses, refunds and the financial reporting.
  • Venue manager — the venue, the seat map and the room itself.
  • Staff — shifts, tasks and their own schedule.

Why this matters more than it sounds

Access control is not only about trust. It is about what somebody can do by accident at 7pm on a busy door, and about being able to hand a volunteer a scanner without also handing them your payout settings.

Changing your mind

Roles can be changed at any time from the team screen, and access ends the moment you remove somebody. If you re-invite a colleague who is already active, their existing access is left alone rather than being reset.
