The For You page suggests upcoming events you have not booked yet, based on what you have actually done on the platform — not a mysterious black box.
How suggestions are worked out
Recommendations come from a scoring formula, not an AI model. Each upcoming event is scored on several signals and the highest-scoring events are shown to you: the categories you have booked or rated highly, cities where you have booked before, how well the price fits what you usually spend, how soon the event happens, whether you follow the organizer, and how popular the event is overall. The formula also spreads results across categories so you do not see eight events from the same category in a row.
What you can do here
- For You — your personalised picks, refreshed roughly every hour
- Trending Now — the most-booked events across the whole platform in the last week, regardless of your own history
- Because you like … — a few extra rows built from your top categories
- Near You — if you allow location access, a row of events happening close to where you are right now
- Edit Preferences — tell the platform directly what you like instead of waiting for it to learn
Setting your preferences
- Click Edit Preferences from the For You page.
- Choose your preferred categories, cities, and event types.
- Set a minimum and maximum price you are comfortable with.
- Optionally pick the days of the week you tend to attend events on.
- Click Save Preferences.
Good to know
- Saving preferences clears your cached recommendations, so your next visit reflects the change immediately rather than waiting for the hourly refresh.
- Booking an event or rating it highly (4–5 stars) also shapes future suggestions, in addition to anything you set manually in preferences.
- Near You asks your browser for location permission each time; declining it simply hides that row, it does not affect any other recommendations.
- Recommendations only ever include events that are published and still upcoming — you will never be shown a sold-out or past event here.
Troubleshooting
- My suggestions look generic — with no booking history and no preferences set, you are shown featured upcoming events instead; set your preferences to get more personal results.
- Near You says location was denied — your browser blocked the location prompt; you can allow it again from your browser's site settings and reload the page.
