Getting Started as Venue Owner

A venue owner account lists a physical space for organisers to discover and rent — it is separate from an organiser account, which runs the events themselves. This walks through the real path from signing up to your first booking request.

What you can do here

  • List one or more venues — each with its own address, capacity, amenities, photos and pricing.
  • Define room configurations — zones and seats that show organisers exactly how the space can be laid out.
  • Sell services and packages — catering, AV, staffing and similar add-ons, priced flat, per person, per hour or custom.
  • Approve or decline booking requests — and track revenue, reviews and performance per venue.

How to set up your account

  1. Register as a venue owner — use the venue owner registration flow, not the organiser one. The two accounts have different capabilities and a single login cannot switch between them.
  2. Add your first venue — from the Dashboard, click Add Your First Venue (or My Venues → Add Venue). Enter the name, address, capacity, amenities, description and at least one photo.
  3. Wait for verification — new venues are created with a Pending review status and are not visible to organisers yet. EventMann staff check the listing and the business/venue registration reference you provided before approving it — this usually takes 1–2 business days. You can keep editing the listing while it waits.
  4. Block out unavailable dates — a venue is assumed available by default; add blocks for maintenance, private use, or anything else organisers should not be able to request.
  5. Add services and packages — optional, but bundled packages are what most booking requests reference.
  6. Start receiving requests — once approved, your venue appears in the organiser-facing browse and search pages. Requests land on your Dashboard and on the venue’s Booking Requests page — there is no email alert for a new request today, so check back rather than waiting for a notification.

Good to know

  • Only an approved venue is discoverable by organisers. Switching a venue’s own Active toggle on does nothing on its own if the venue has not passed review — both conditions must be true.
  • A rejected venue shows the reviewer’s note on hover over its status badge in My Venues. Edit the listing to address the note, but be aware the status itself does not change automatically when you save — contact support if it stays rejected after you have fixed the issue.
  • Pricing for services is set per venue; there is no platform-wide price list.

Troubleshooting

  • My venue does not show up when I search for it as an organiser — it is either still pending review, was rejected, or its Active toggle is off. Check the status column in My Venues.
  • I cannot find a “Create Event” option — venue owner accounts do not create events; that is an organiser capability. You list the space, an organiser books it and runs their own event there.
