On this page
Control how one event's page appears in search results and when it is shared on social media. Reach it from Event → Manage → Promotion → SEO Settings — the first tab in that row.
What you can do here
- Meta title & description — override what search engines show for this event instead of the default title and auto-trimmed description.
- Keywords — a free-text field feeding the page's meta keywords tag.
- Open Graph image — the image used when the event is shared on social media or messaging apps, given as a direct image URL.
- Schema type — the schema.org event type used for rich results (Event, MusicEvent, SportsEvent, EducationEvent, FoodEvent, BusinessEvent or SocialEvent).
- Generate with AI — when enabled, drafts a meta title, description, keywords and a suggested schema type from the event's existing details; review before saving.
How to optimise a listing
- Open Promotion → SEO Settings on the event.
- Fill in a meta title and description, or click Generate with AI to draft them.
- Set an Open Graph image URL if the default event image is not what you want shared.
- Pick the schema type that best matches the event.
- Save.
Good to know
- Leave any field blank and the page falls back sensibly: title falls back to the event title, description to the start of the event description, and the Open Graph image to the event's own cover image.
- The Open Graph image is a URL field, not an upload — it must already be hosted somewhere reachable.
- Ticket pricing, availability and, once the event has published ratings, a star rating are added to the page's structured data automatically — you do not fill those in here.
Troubleshooting
- Google is still showing my old title/description — search engines re-crawl on their own schedule; saving here changes what is served immediately, but a stale cached result can persist until the next crawl.
- Social share card shows the wrong image — some platforms cache link previews aggressively; use that platform's own sharing-debug tool to force a refresh after changing the Open Graph image.
- Generate with AI button is missing — AI features are not enabled for your account; the fields still work manually.
