This is the checklist EventMann uses to walk a new organizer account from signed-up to actually selling tickets. You land here automatically the first time you log in, and can come back to it any time from the link in your account menu.
The steps
- Complete your profile — required. Add your name and a short bio; both need to be filled in before this step ticks off.
- Set up your sending email — required. Connect an SMTP mailbox under Settings so tickets, reminders and invoices reach attendees from your own address rather than events@eventmann.com.
- Connect Stripe — optional. Only needed if you plan to sell paid tickets; skip it if every event you run is free, and connect later from Settings → Payment.
- Add your first venue — optional.
- Create your first event — required, via the event wizard.
- Add ticket types — required. This only ticks off once at least one of your events actually has a ticket type attached to it.
- Publish your first event — optional, but nothing sells until you do.
How progress is tracked
- Every step is detected automatically from your account data — there's nothing to tick manually. Filling in your bio, connecting Stripe, or publishing an event flips the matching step the next time the page runs its check.
- Steps are split into Required and Optional groups. The overall progress bar covers both; the smaller “X/Y required steps completed” line only tracks the required ones.
- Dismissing the checklist only works once every required step is done — the dismiss action quietly does nothing before that.
Payments verification
Alongside the checklist, organizers see a Stripe verification card in one of four states: Payments verified (charges are enabled — you can sell paid tickets and your events carry the verified badge), Finish payment verification (Stripe has your account but still wants more details), Verify payments to sell tickets (no Stripe account yet — skip this if you only run free events), or a state asking you to review something Stripe rejected. This mirrors the same check as the Connect Stripe step above.
Good to know
- “Set up your sending email” is the SMTP & Mail screen, not the separate Email Preferences screen (that one controls which notifications you personally receive) — the two sit next to each other in Settings and are easy to mix up.
- The publish step checks whether any one of your events is published or live — you don't need every event published to clear it.
Troubleshooting
- I finished a step but it still shows unchecked — the profile step needs both a name and a bio; a name alone won't tick it off. The tickets step needs an event with a ticket type actually attached, not merely created.
- I can't dismiss the checklist — a required step is still open. The amber counter under the progress bar shows how many are left.
- Stripe shows “Finish payment verification” and won't move to verified — Stripe already has an account for you but is still waiting on details or hasn't enabled charges yet; continue from where the card sends you rather than reconnecting from scratch.
