The vendor marketplace is where organizers search and filter for vendors. Rather than generic sales advice, here is exactly what the search box, each filter, and the sort options key on — and what has no effect at all.

What the marketplace actually searches

ControlWhat it matches
Search boxYour company name, bio text, and specialization tags only — it does not scan individual service names, descriptions, or category labels
Category filterAn admin-managed category list, not the free-text Category field on your own services (see below)
Specializations filterThe exact specialization tags you added on your profile
Price range (min/max)The price on your active services only
Minimum ratingThe average of your published reviews
Sort: Highest Rated / Newest / Name A-Z / Price low-high / Price high-lowAs labeled — rating and price sorts use the same figures as the filters above

Good to know

  • Only vendors with an Approved profile appear in the marketplace at all — every filter and sort option above only ever runs against approved vendors.
  • Specializations are the highest-leverage field you control: they are matched by both the keyword search and their own dedicated filter. Precise, organizer-relevant terms (“cocktail bar”, “drone footage”) work harder for you than broad marketing language.
  • The Category field you set on an individual service is a display label only, for your own catalog and your public profile — it does not feed the marketplace's Category dropdown, which draws from a separate admin-managed list that individual vendors cannot assign services to today.
  • The Featured Vendors badge is applied manually by an admin; there is no automatic threshold or self-service request for it. A strong rating and a complete profile make the case, but they do not grant it on their own.
  • Your average rating and review count are the only performance figures shown publicly. Total revenue, task completion, and on-time rate (visible on your own Performance page) are private and never shown to organizers or in search.

Troubleshooting

  • I do not show up when someone filters by category — expected today: the Category filter does not read the free-text Category field on your services, and there is no vendor-facing way to assign the admin category list yet.
  • My listed price range changed after I edited a service — the range is recalculated from your active services every time; deactivating your cheapest or most expensive service immediately narrows it.
  • I have reviews but no rating shows — only published reviews count toward your average; every review is published by default when an organizer submits it, so this would only happen with zero reviews so far.
