EventMann is a modern web application built with current browser features in mind, so how well it runs depends on how current your browser is. This article covers what to expect, and a real constraint worth knowing about if you organize events and use the check-in scanner on an iPhone.
Recommended browsers
- Chrome — latest version recommended
- Firefox — latest version recommended
- Safari — latest version recommended
- Edge — latest version recommended
The platform is built on modern CSS and relies on Alpine.js for interactive elements throughout the interface. Keeping your browser updated is the most reliable way to avoid layout or interaction issues — an old browser missing current web-platform features is far more likely to cause problems than any specific version number. JavaScript must be enabled for the site to work at all.
Devices
The platform is responsive and works on desktop, tablet, and mobile browsers alike. There is no dedicated attendee mobile app — you book, view tickets, and manage your account from a browser on any device.
Check-in scanner on iPhone
Organizers and door staff who check attendees in can install the scanner as a home-screen web app directly from the check-in page — there is no App Store listing, since iOS gives web apps no install prompt. Instead, use Safari's Share button and choose Add to Home Screen.
This needs iOS 16.4 or later. Camera access inside an installed web app does not work on earlier iOS versions at all — if your iPhone is older than that, keep scanning from the Safari tab directly instead of installing it, since the installed version will not be able to use the camera.
Android and desktop Chrome offer a proper install button instead of the manual Share steps, since those browsers support install prompts natively.
Good to know
- The installed check-in scanner only contains the scanner itself — anything else, including signing in again if your session ends, opens in your regular browser.
- An Android version of the scanner is also available as a direct APK download for organizers who prefer a native app over the installed web version.
Troubleshooting
- The scanner will not access the camera after I installed it on my iPhone — check your iOS version; camera access inside an installed web app requires iOS 16.4 or later. Use the Safari tab version instead until you can update.
- Something looks visually broken or a button does nothing — update your browser to its latest version first; this resolves the majority of rendering and interaction issues.
- Pages will not load any interactive content at all — confirm JavaScript is enabled; the platform depends on it.
