On this page
Details & dates is where you edit everything about an event after it exists: its description, dates, location, booking window, visibility, booking mode, ticket rules and cancellation terms. Open it from Manage → Event Setup → Details & dates, or press Edit in My Events. The page opens on the Information tab; the other tabs are Event Schedule, Reschedule Event, Virtual Event and Event status.
How the page is built
- The tab strip ①②③④ moves between the five pages of Details & dates: Event Schedule, Reschedule Event, Virtual Event and Event status.
- The left column is the event itself, in cards that each save on their own: Event Information, Event rules & what to know, Event Dates, Location, Booking Window and Visibility. A bar that reads “Saves this section only” holds Save Changes.
- The right column has the Event Status panel (the same moves as the Overview; Cancel and Mark Complete are behind its Event status button), an At a glance card (capacity, tickets sold, available, sell-through) and the Advanced card, which has its own Save Changes.

Event Information
- Cover Image — click to upload; it is used on both the event card and the hero banner (recommended 1600×900, 16:9; JPG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB). Leave it alone to keep the current one.
- Event Title ⑤ and Public URL ⑥ — the URL is the stable address of the event page,
eventmann.com/events/your-name. Changing the title does not change the URL, because it is the field you edit; changing the URL breaks every link you already shared. Copy Link copies the saved URL and Preview opens the private preview. - Category and Description (rich text).
- Event rules & what to know — entry rules, what to bring, what is not allowed (up to 10,000 characters). It is printed in the automatic reminder email sent to every ticket holder 24 hours before the event. Attach tickets to the reminder email sends each attendee their tickets again, generated fresh with your current ticket design and sponsors.
Event Dates and Location
- Set the Start Date & Time ① (required) and End Date & Time (optional). The line beneath each shows how attendees will read it, with the timezone.
- For a draft you want to publish automatically, enter a Go-live Date & Time ②, save, and then use Schedule in the Event Status panel; the button stays greyed out until a go-live time is saved. Once an event is Scheduled the go-live time cannot be cleared, only moved. See Event status.
- Check the Event Timezone ③ and Currency. Times are wall-clock times in that timezone, the same for every viewer; prices are charged in that currency.
- Switch Online Event ④ on for an event without a venue: the address fields are hidden and a stream or meeting URL is required instead. Otherwise fill in Venue ⑤, Address, City and Country, all required for an in-person event, and State / Province if your address uses one (optional; it is printed on the event page and the ticket).

Booking Window and Visibility
- Bookings Open ① and Bookings Close (both optional) control when tickets can be bought, independently of the event’s own dates. Individual ticket types can have their own sale dates too.
- Max tickets per order ② caps the whole basket across ticket types; blank means no limit.
- Visibility ③: Public events are listed in browse and search. Private events stay off browse and search and can only be reached with the direct link.

Advanced
The Advanced card holds the rules for how tickets are bought and what attendees may do with them.
- Booking Mode ① — Pay Now or Request & Approve. See Booking Modes.
- Age Restriction ② — a minimum age in years; 0 for none.
- Capacity Override ③ — a hard ceiling across all ticket types. Blank uses the sum of the ticket types. When it is below that sum, the figures on this page use the override.
- Ticket Restrictions: Cancelable ④ lets attendees cancel or ask for a refund (off: neither, and the cancellation terms are not shown; you can still refund any order yourself); Cancellation cutoff stops cancellations a number of hours before the start (blank for none, 0 to close when the event starts); Transferable, Editable (attendees may edit attendee details) and Refundable (a self-service cancellation refunds automatically; attendees can always ask, and you decide those by hand).
- Cancellation terms — what a buyer gets back when they cancel. Required once an event has paid tickets. See Cancellation terms.

- Member early access ① — hours before sales open to everybody that your active members may already book (0 = off). It only has an effect when a booking start is set.
- Members-only event ② — every ticket is reserved for active members; the event stays listed so members can find it.
- Transferable ③ and the other switches described above.

- Enable Waitlist ① lets attendees join a list when a ticket type is sold out. Book waitlisted people automatically books the longest-waiting person as soon as a seat frees up; off, you admit people from the list yourself. See Waitlist.
- Time to pay ② — hours (0.5 to 72) an admitted person has to pay for a paid ticket. A free ticket is confirmed at once.
- Waitlist limit ③ — how many tickets may be queued per ticket type; blank for no limit.
- Looking for staff ④ — list the event publicly for people looking for event work (off by default).

Changing dates, venue or format notifies your attendees
Dates, venue, address, city, country and online or in-person are promises to everybody who has a ticket. When you save a change to any of them and orders are confirmed, the ticket holders are emailed that the event details changed. The change is recorded with the number of orders and the amount affected. The dedicated Reschedule Event page does the same for date changes.
- Dates are compared to the minute, so saving the form without touching them never sends an email.
- Once money has been taken, the email cannot be switched off: a material change gives buyers a right to a refund, and that is not something to withhold.
- A start date cannot be moved into the past once orders have been paid.
- If the same paid event changes twice within 30 days the platform team is told, and your next paid event may be reviewed before it can go live.
Good to know
- Cancellation terms are recorded on each order when it is bought: changing them affects future orders, while orders already placed keep the terms they were sold under.
- A paid event cannot go live without cancellation terms you chose yourself — “Full refund” is a valid choice, a blank is not.
- The cancellation cutoff, the capacity override and the age limit apply to every ticket type of the event.
Troubleshooting
- Saving fails with a venue, address, city or country error — those are required unless Online Event is on.
- The stream URL will not save — it is required once Online Event is on.
- The booking window is rejected — Bookings Close must be on or after Bookings Open.
- “The start date cannot be moved into the past” — the event has paid orders. Use Reschedule Event for a future date or cancel the event.
- My changes on the right did not save — each side has its own Save Changes button; the Advanced card is saved separately from the left cards.
